Buyer Terms
These Buyer Terms apply when you use our Service to purchase Products from Sellers on Whop or through Whop Payments, and are part of our Terms of Service (including the Terms’ arbitration agreement and class action waiver).
Whop acts as the merchant of record for purchases made on Whop or through Whop Payments solely in its capacity as payment processor. The Seller identified at checkout and on your receipt is the supplier of the product or service you are purchasing. Whop will appear on your card or bank statement as the payment processor; the Seller is separately identified on your receipt. For questions about a charge, payment, or payment-layer issue (for example, an unrecognized charge, duplicate payment, or processing error), contact Whop at [email protected]. For questions about the product or service itself—including access, content, returns, or refund requests—contact the Seller directly using the contact information on your receipt.
1. Payment Methods and Authorization
You may only use Whop-supported payment methods. By providing your payment details, you authorize Whop and our Financial Partners to store your payment credentials and charge your payment method for Products, taxes, fees, and other amounts displayed at checkout, including recurring charges for Subscription Products. We may request additional information to complete transactions, verify your identity, prevent fraud, and satisfy legal requirements. If you pay by credit card, we may pre-authorize your card to verify it is valid and has sufficient funds.
If you save a payment method to your account, you authorize us to maintain it and use it for future purchases. We or our Financial Partners may receive updated payment information from your card issuer (such as new card numbers or expiration dates) to prevent service interruptions. To remove or change stored payment methods, visit your account profile.
2. Third-Party Payment Processors
We use third-party payment processors (including Stripe and PayPal) to facilitate transactions. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for processor errors or failures. If a processor rejects or reverses a transaction, we may suspend or terminate your Product access.
3. Fees and Pricing
Product Pricing. You’ll see the total price including any applicable fees and taxes before completing your purchase.
All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise specified. If you use a non-USD payment method, your card issuer or payment processor may charge currency conversion fees and foreign transaction fees, which are not controlled by us. Exchange rates are determined by your payment processor at the time of transaction.
Whop Payment Processing Fees. We may charge transaction fees and other payment-processing fees (for example, currency conversion fees, where applicable) for use of our payment-processing services. If applicable, you’ll have a chance to review and accept all Whop fees before paying. All fees are non-refundable unless specifically stated otherwise in these Terms. We may change our payment-processing fees at any time with advance notice, although you will also see applicable fees prior to your next transaction.
Promotions. We may offer promotional discounts or coupon codes for Whop fees, subject to specific terms, restrictions, and expiration dates. Sellers may also offer their own promotions on Product pricing. Unless a promotion is offered directly to you, it doesn’t apply to your purchases. Promotions cannot be combined unless explicitly stated and have no cash value. All promotions are subject to applicable law.
4. Subscription Products
Some Products charge you automatically each billing period (“Subscription Products”). Your subscription starts on your first purchase date (your “Subscription Billing Date”) and continues for the period specified at purchase.
Many subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel or the Seller or we terminate them. When you activate a subscription, you authorize us to save your payment method and charge it each billing period until you cancel.
You must cancel before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. Cancellation of a subscription is governed by the Seller’s terms. You should follow the cancellation instructions provided by the Seller. Upon receiving a valid cancellation instruction from the Seller, or upon your use of a Seller-authorized cancellation mechanism, Whop will cease charging your payment method for future billing periods. If you cannot locate the Seller’s cancellation instructions, our Help Center can direct you to the Seller.
5. One-Time Payment Products
Some Products are available through a single payment (“One-Time Payment Products”).
One-Time Payment Products do not renew, and no additional charges occur unless you make another purchase.
6. Free Trials
Some Products may offer free trial periods. When you start a free trial, you must provide a valid payment method. You will not be charged during the trial period, but you authorize us to charge your payment method when the trial ends unless you cancel before the trial period expires.
Free trials that you do not cancel automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial period. You must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Whether a free trial converts to a paid subscription, and the cancellation process, are governed by the Seller’s terms. You should follow the cancellation instructions provided by the Seller. Upon receiving a valid cancellation instruction from the Seller, or upon your use of a Seller-authorized cancellation mechanism, Whop will not charge your payment method at the end of the trial period. If you cannot locate the Seller’s cancellation instructions, our Help Center can direct you to the Seller.
Some free trials may be limited to one per person, household, or payment method. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and deny free trials if we suspect abuse or fraud.
7. Gifting and Transfers
For account-integrity, anti-fraud, and applicable anti-money-laundering and know-your-customer purposes, you may not transfer purchases, access rights, or account benefits to another account. All purchases are tied to the purchasing account and are non-transferable at the payment-account level.
8. Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we may, subject to applicable law and network rules.
For subscriptions, we may continue attempting payment until you cancel. You remain responsible for unpaid amounts. Continued payment failures may result in subscription cancellation or account suspension.
9. Refund Requests
Refund requests are handled in one of three ways, depending on the nature of the request:
Payment-layer issues. If you have an issue with the payment itself—for example, an unrecognized charge, a duplicate payment, a payment processing error, or a currency conversion error—contact Whop at [email protected]. Whop will investigate and, where a payment-layer issue is confirmed, process a reversal to your original payment method, typically within 3–5 business days.
Product or service issues. If your issue concerns the product or service itself—for example, the product was not as described, access was not provided, you wish to return or cancel, or you are otherwise dissatisfied with the product—contact the Seller directly using the contact information on your receipt. The Seller’s refund policy governs. If the Seller approves a refund, Whop will process the payment reversal upon the Seller’s instruction to your original payment method, typically within 3–5 business days. Our Help Center can route your request to the Seller if you cannot locate the Seller’s contact information.
Card-issuer chargeback rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank under applicable card network rules or applicable law.
EU, EEA, and UK consumers — statutory withdrawal right. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase for any reason within 14 days of completing your transaction, in accordance with applicable law. If you exercise this right, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid.
For digital content (including access to courses, software, programs, or other digital products delivered electronically), this right does not apply once you have started downloading, streaming, or accessing the content, provided that at the time of purchase you expressly agreed that delivery would begin immediately and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal. If you did not provide this acknowledgment at checkout, your 14-day withdrawal right applies regardless of whether you have accessed the content.
10. Changes to Products and Pricing
For Subscriptions: Sellers may change subscription fees for future periods with advance notice. If you don’t agree to a price increase, cancel before the increase takes effect. Price changes apply starting with your next billing period.
Product Modifications: Sellers may modify, update, or discontinue Products at any time. If a Seller discontinues a subscription you’ve purchased, it continues through your current period but won’t renew. For One-Time Payment Products, access continues through your specified duration.
If a Seller significantly reduces a Product’s value or functionality, contact the Seller directly using the contact information on your receipt.
11. Digital Content Licenses
When you buy access to a course, program, or digital product through Whop Payments (the “Content”), you are not buying ownership of that Content. Instead, you are receiving a license from the Seller to access and use it on the terms the Seller sets.
The Seller who created the Content owns all rights to it. Your use of any Content is subject to the Seller’s own Terms and Conditions (if any) in addition to these Terms.
The license you receive—including its scope, duration, permitted uses, restrictions, and any conditions on access—is granted by, and governed by, the Seller and the Seller’s own terms. Whop is not a party to that license and grants no rights in the Content. Whop’s role in connection with these Buyer Terms is limited to providing payment-processing services in respect of your purchase.
12. Prohibited Purchases
You agree not to:
- Buy anything that's illegal for you to buy where you live
- Buy products that require you to be older than you are, including age-restricted products if you haven't reached the required age
- Purchase products that violate our Prohibited Products and Services Policy. If you see products that violate this policy, please report them to [email protected]
- Violate anyone else's rights or break any laws
- Provide false payment information or use payment methods you don't own or aren't authorized to use
13. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Buyer Terms or our Terms of Service, engage in fraud or unlawful activity, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect Whop, Sellers, or other users, including to investigate potential violations. Except where prohibited by mandatory law in your territory, we will give you prior written notice of termination where reasonable and practicable.
Account Suspension: If your account is suspended, your access to purchased Products will be suspended during the suspension period. If your account is restored, access to your purchases will be restored and any accrued refunds will be provided.
Account Termination: If your account is terminated by us for violating these Terms, you will lose access to all purchased Products and will not receive refunds. If you voluntarily close your account, you will lose access to all purchases.
Seller Blocks or Restrictions: If a Seller blocks you or restricts your access to their Product, we are not responsible for loss of access. Contact the Seller directly using the contact information on your receipt to resolve the issue. If you cannot locate the Seller’s contact information, our Help Center can route your request to the Seller. We may assist at our discretion but do not guarantee resolution or refunds.
14. Payment Disputes
Please follow the refund process set out in Section 9 before filing a card-issuer bank dispute. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer under applicable card network rules or applicable law. Please visit our Help Center for instructions.
15. Country-Specific Terms
Consumers in the EU, EEA, and UK. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights you may have under mandatory consumer law in your territory. Your statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days is set out in Section 9 above. Disputes may be brought in the courts of the country where you reside, in addition to any other courts with jurisdiction.
Consumers in the United States. These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, except that if you are a resident of a U.S. state with mandatory consumer protection laws that provide greater protections than New York law, those laws shall apply to the extent required. The arbitration agreement and class action waiver in our Terms of Service apply to disputes arising under these Buyer Terms.
Consumers in Quebec, Canada. These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of Quebec. You acknowledge having received access to a French version of these Terms. Vous reconnaissez avoir reçu une version française des présentes conditions. Last Updated: May 15th 2026
